Beginning in 2008, in order to serve beyond individual congregations, local United Methodist Churches bound together to form the Redbank Valley United Methodist Ministry. The Redbank Valley United Methodist Ministry is composed of seven local United Methodist churches: First United Methodist, Fairmount City, Hawthorn, Leasure Run, New Salem, Oak Ridge, Putneyville.

The RVUMM serves to connect the churches together in a common mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Organized and subject to the United Methodist Church Book of Discipline and governed by a single charge conference, all congregations are linked for the purpose of pooling their gifts of money, time, and talents for mission and ministry.

Simultaneously each of the churches in the Redbank Valley United Methodist Ministry continues to develop and nurture their own, individual church ministries-putting faith and love into action.
